Looking for IM’s to offer in the fall because of COVID restrictions? The R4 Intramural Committee has you covered!  Here are a few suggestions from the Region IV Sports Committee!

 

Think Singles and Doubles Sports

  1. Tennis
  2. Table Tennis
  3. Golf
  4. Disc Golf
  5. Badminton
  6. Racquetball
  7. 2v2 Sand Volleyball
  8. Cornhole
  9. Spikeball
  10. Bowling
  11. Bocce Ball

 

Needing More to Offer? Check out some modifications to some sports you may already be offering!

  1. Foot Tennis
    1. This is played 2v2 on a tennis court. 3 hits before returning the ball over net, any part of the body can be used except hands. Ball also must bounce at least once before returning over the net.
  2. Nickel Softball / Kickball

  3. Self-Reported Scoring
    1. For sports such as golf, disc golf, virtual running challenge, and Esports, you may be able to have participants play on their own and report the scores to you.

 

Go back to the basics with some traditional Individual Intramural Sports!

  1. Punt, Pass and Kick
  2. 3 Point and/or Free Throw Contest
  3. Hotshot Challenge
  4. Horse Tournament
  5. Intramural Football Combine
  6. QB Skills Challenge
  7. Footgolf
  8. Virtual 5K and Walking Challenge (most miles and/or best time)
  9. Bicycling Challenges (most miles)

 

And let’s not forget Online Games!

  1. eSports (such as: Madden, FIFA, Fortnite, Rocket League, NBA 2K
    1. Call of Duty if your campus approves of 1 person shooter games
  2. Quiz Battle (using sporcle quizzes to have weekly online quiz challenges)
  3. Fantasy Football
  4. Online Trivia or Sports Trivia.
    1. You can do this yourself with platforms such as Zoom and YouTube or check out NIRSA’s Rec Without Borders for more information on when they are hosting Trivia Nights!
  5. Bowl Pick’em
    1. ESPN offers a bowl challenge where you can pick the winner of bowls and receive points for correct selections.  Check this out when December rolls around!
