Region IV July 2020 Newsletter
We hope this newsletter finds you and yours safe, healthy and well! As July is coming to a close, Region IV professionals and students are gearing up for that all too familiar sprint to the start of the Fall semester. This time though, uncertainty remains as this fall will be unlike any other. What will life on campus look like? How will our programs and services be impacted by our new campus reality? What will enrollment look like? How will ever-changing state and county regulations impact decisions already made? What will need to change once students return to campus, if they do?
As facilities have been reconfigured and repurposed, our colleagues have Zoomed, Skyped or Microsoft Teamed (though that doesn’t quite roll of the tongue as well) our way through the previous few months, connecting within each state and across the region. During this time, NIRSA has created and shared resources to assist in preparing to reopen (or stay open in a few cases), to stay connected through round tables, provided opportunities to continue learning, and rallied us to join in the continued fight for social justice.
This month’s newsletter adds additional region-specific resources and highlights. As we move toward the fall semester beginning, please continue to connect with your region colleagues for advice and best practices. Check in on our colleagues with marginalized identities; make sure they’re doing okay. Let’s keep moving forward!
